Land of Moneo

From Power Master Wiki
Jump to navigationJump to search

The Land of Moneo (or simply Moneo) is a major area in the Power Master series. It is where Power Master 1: A Strange Journey, Power Master: A Strange Journey MV, and Power Master 2: The Legend take place. The land is filled with enemies, but staying on the paths will protect the player from battles.

Geography

The Land of Moneo has various climates to it along with different environments. It contains lakes, rivers, forests, a desert, an iceberg, mountain ranges, and a volcano. In the center of it is where the Magical Meteor from thousands of years ago landed[Reference incoming]. Twenty-six towns have been built on this land, all starting with a different letter of the English alphabet, and each contains a landmark of their own, which can include the aforementioned environments, ruins, and magical locations.

The Land of Moneo contains pathways to other lands, with the Land of Shadurn to the north[1].

In Power Master 1: A Strange Journey, the player is first able to enter Moneo from the Town of Fora after they defeat the Silver Knight, though the player has to talk to the Guardian of Fora before leaving, otherwise the player will be unable to go to their next destination. Trying to leave Moneo will result in the game telling the player that "The land ahead does not hold your adventure" and tells them to come back "another day...", with the exception of one quest that allows the player to leave for a brief time. After the game has been completed and the player receives the Airship in the Town of Sora, they can access the dungeon levels from the world map (except for Vora Volcano and Wora Waters, as the ship cannot land). The player can also find many secret treasures by burning trees or bombing mountainsides.

Connections

In Power Master: A Strange Journey MV, the Land of Moneo returns as the overworld in Power Master: A Strange Journey MV. The land contains different geography from the original incarnation, though the layout is mostly the same in terms of navigation. Letters signifying the towns are visible. Several passages are blocked either by large boulders that can be blown up with bombs or bridges that are guarded by a Swordsman or Swordswoman. Due to the change concerning enemy appearances, enemies now roam the overworld, though some are still restricted to or only appear in certain locations.
