RULES
  1. Standard rules apply, of course. No spamming, trolling, vandalizing, removing comments, etc. Please follow the rules, your comment will get removed otherwise (you may also get blocked). You don't have to sign your comments here, but it'll make it easier for me to get back to you if you do.
  2. No swearing or obscenity. These words will get edited out ASAP.
  3. Please don't ask why I reverted or corrected your edit. Usually, I have a good reason and can back it up. Take a look at my contributions or the page history for more information regarding your edit, if available. If you must, you can ask for clarification, but only if you provide more than "Why did you delete my edit?!" (which will get removed).
  4. Any questions relating to a different wiki, please post on my talk page there. If you're here to complain about a block I gave you on other wikis, your comment will be removed, though I may clarify a block on Discord if needed. Though if you need my immediate attention elsewhere, you can notify me on Discord.
  5. I'm a friendly guy and am willing to engage in friendly conversation, so long as the sections don't become too excessive. If a topic header already exists for your question, please post under that.
  6. I will archive once this talk page reaches 200 messages. Please do not make any message telling me to archive. It's a waste of a notification, and it will be removed.
  7. Unless it's an important response you should know about or if I started the conversation on your page, I will respond here.
  8. I welcome friendship, but only if I know you well enough.
  9. I'm all for helping with my games!
Brought over from my Gamepedia talk page because I wanted to keep it.

Skinning considerations

So, once you have nailed down a colour scheme, i propose we make the whole wiki consistent. so that would include tables, the preferences page, the editing screen, etc. If you want, i can toss in the base code and then you can play with colours. Typcially, i make table headers match the button gradient (on the tabs) and use semi-transparent masks to lighten or darken different areas to distinguish them. I'd also make the infoboxes match the colour scheme — Game widow 21:01, 8 June 2017 (UTC)

I'll keep this color scheme for now. I agree on the consistency, that will make the wiki look much better. Go ahead and see what you can do. I'm doing, like, three things at once atm, so I'll work with that myself when I can :P
I also tried to see if I could mess with username color and font, like here. Couldn't get it to work, you want to take a stab at it? PowerMasterAlex (talk) 21:13, 8 June 2017 (UTC)
Just let me know the colours you want for the usernames and i can deal with that too — Game widow 21:21, 8 June 2017 (UTC)
Not every user name, just the admins on this wiki, so other users can see who's who. In my case, I want my name to be black, but I couldn't get it to show up correctly. (No other admins, currently, so no need to worry about those :P). PowerMasterAlex (talk) 21:27, 8 June 2017 (UTC)
No worries, i know — Game widow 22:51, 8 June 2017 (UTC)
I used green, but feel free to change the colour (you had it right the first time) — Game widow 23:08, 8 June 2017 (UTC)
Green looks good, thanks! PowerMasterAlex (talk) 23:16, 8 June 2017 (UTC)
OK, so we've settled into this new colour scheme. Any tweaks you'd like? if not, then we should visit main page layout. — Game widow 21:47, 12 June 2017 (UTC)
Yeah, the color scheme looks good to me! As for the main page, maybe we can make the text at the top into a site notice across all the pages. Navigation can remain where it's at. Maybe the Games, Categories, and News could be on the left column and the Poll, Maintenance, and Media could be on the left. Was also thinking of making a Featured Article and Did You Know sections at some point, but I'm not ready for that yet.
By the way, thanks for all the help you've been providing, especially on the things I don't know how to do :) PowerMasterAlex (talk) 22:00, 12 June 2017 (UTC)
You're very welcome. So, for the sitenotice, all you need to do is edit Mediawiki:Sitenotice, easy peasy. For the main page layout, let me show you a couple of alternatives. You'll have to play with your browser width to see why they are considered good. First, a responsive 3 column layout and second, a 2 column responsive layout. Let me know if either style appeals to you — Game widow 12:41, 13 June 2017 (UTC)
(Any particular reason why you got rid of the boxes on top?) I'll mess around with the sitenotice, and the Pokemon Go example looks good, though I'd like the left side to be more prominent. PowerMasterAlex (talk) 14:34, 13 June 2017 (UTC)
I'm not sure i understand which boxes you mean — Game widow 15:03, 13 June 2017 (UTC)
I meant the status and the rule boxes at the top of my talk page. They disappeared during your last edit for some reason.
Bit focused on watching the E3 stuff for the next couple of days, so apologies for any late replies. PowerMasterAlex (talk) 17:21, 13 June 2017 (UTC)
It's possbible our edits collided, i didn't deliberately delete anything from your talk page — Game widow 18:50, 13 June 2017 (UTC)
That would be strange, considering there was almost a 12-hour gap between those edits. But, eh, nothing to worry about :) PowerMasterAlex (talk) 19:16, 13 June 2017 (UTC)
