Status Ailment

Status Ailments are additional properties forced onto characters and enemies that affect the way battles play out. Usually, they are caused by a special parameter included with certain skills or weapons. Depending on the ailment, it will either help or hinder the effected target. They are usually temporary.

Types of Ailments

  • Agility Down: The character's Agility is reduced.
  • Agility Up: Raises the character's Agility.
  • Asleep: The character falls asleep and cannot move. The character has a chance of waking up if they are attacked.
  • Barrier: A protective state that prevents the character from being effected by negative effects.
  • Blinded: The character's accuracy falls.
  • Blown: The character cannot move until their next turn.
  • Boggled: The character will attack anyone, friend or enemy.
  • Burned: The character takes damage and cannot move.
  • Confused: The character cannot use Special Skills.
  • Defeated: This occurs when the character's Health reaches zero. Character cannot move until revived.
  • Defense Down: Lowers the character's Defense.
  • Defense Up: Raises a character's Defense.
  • Elemental Force: Changes the character's attack properties to that of the specified element.
  • Evasive: The character becomes harder to hit.
  • Frozen: The character cannot move.
  • HP Regen: The character's Health slowly recovers.
  • Hypnotized: The character attacks their allies, and their evasion is reduced.
  • Intangible: The character cannot take damage from physical attacks.
  • Invincible: The character takes no damage.
  • Luck Down: Lowers the character's Luck.
  • Luck Up: Raises the character's Luck.
  • MP Regen: The character's Energy slowly recovers.
  • Muted: The character cannot cast spells.
  • Offense Down: Lowers the character's Offense.
  • Offense Up: Raises the character's Offense.
  • Paralyzed: The character cannot move.
  • Petrified: The character cannot move. The character has a chance of breaking free if attacked.
  • Poisoned: The character will continuously take damage.
  • Possessed: The character will attack one of their allies.
  • Power Down: Lowers the character's Power.
  • Power Up: Raises the character's Power.
  • Provoked: The character will only focus on the provoker.
  • Resistance Down: Lowers the character's Resistance.
  • Resistance Up: Raises the character's Resistance.
